Home: Dairy: The Dairy Cow: Life of a Dairy Cow. Dairy cattle have to grow up just like people do. A dairy cow doesn't produce milk until she has a calf. She is about two years old when she has her first calf. Dairy farmers like for cows to have a calf every 12 to 14 months. The business life cycle is the progression of a business and its phases over time, and is most commonly divided into five stages: launch, growth, shake-out, maturity, and decline. The cycle is shown on a graph with the horizontal axis as time, and the vertical axis as dollars or various financial metrics.

Older cows just eat grass and hay. The farmer will feed them silage in the winter for extra vitamins. A calf drinks milk from its mother for the first days, then it is fed bottled milk by the farmer. When it is about 3 weeks it will start to eat grass, hay and pellets as well. At birth a calf lives off of milk. Weaning happens anywhere from 10 weeks to 8 months depending upon them being dairy or beef animal. Puberty happens for both males and females at about a year. Males that will become herd bulls will breed anywhere.

Dec 17,  · The Final Stage of a parasitic life-cycle is the stage in which it reproduces sexually. So, in the Fluke's life-cycle, the cow or human host where the larval forms grow into sexually mature adults. Lisa Trumbauer is the New York Times best-selling author of A Practical Guide to Dragons.
